Why sell to us

Books matter more to collectors than to auctioneers.

A general auction lumps your first edition in with cookbooks. We know exactly what a signed Churchill's War or a German Hitler's War is worth — and we pay accordingly.

Specialists, not resellers

Every valuation is done by someone who knows the print history, the translation variants, and the signature patterns. No guesswork.

Fair market pricing

We benchmark against auction records and private-sale data — then add a premium for books destined for our own collector customers.

Paid fast, paid directly

Bank transfer, PayPal, or wire — your choice. Funds typically clear within 48 hours of you accepting our offer.

Wanted

What we actively buy.

Some titles we'll take in almost any condition. Others we only want in collector grade. If you're not sure — ask. A quick email is free, and we answer every one.

Condition standards

Condition is everything — and also not everything.

Top offers

Fine / Near-Fine

Unread or barely-read. Original dust jacket intact. No ownership marks, no bumping, no foxing. Spine tight, square corners.

Standard offers

Very Good

Normal reading wear — light shelf rub, small jacket chips, perhaps a gift inscription. Text block clean. Fully collectible.

Still welcome

Good / Reading Copy

Significant wear, jacket missing or damaged, some marking. We still buy scarce titles in this grade — just at a lower price point.

Don't clean, repair, or re-wrap anything.

Collectors value originality. Well-intentioned tape repairs, removed bookplates and fresh shrink-wrap routinely halve a book's value. Send it as you found it — we'll handle everything.

"Books are the only objects that pay you back. The better you look after them, the more they're worth to the next reader."

Common questions

Before you send us details.

How do I price a book I can't find on eBay?

You don't have to. Our specialists price it. Send the details; we'll compare against the internal sale ledger, auction records and the current waiting list. You'll get a range, not a take-it-or-leave-it number.

What if the offer is lower than I hoped?

No obligation. We're upfront about why we've priced where we have — condition, print run, signature type — and you can accept, counter, or walk away. No fees either way.

Do you accept single books or only collections?

Single books are welcome. For large collections (twenty titles plus) we'll often visit in person in the UK, or arrange a courier valuation abroad.

Who pays shipping?

For accepted offers we reimburse tracked shipping on receipt. Declined books are returned at our expense if we asked you to ship them. If you shipped speculatively, return postage is yours.

How do I prove a signature is authentic?

We authenticate in-house, drawing on decades of matched specimens. For contested signatures we consult external experts at no cost to you before finalising an offer.

Is my information private?

Entirely. Names, addresses and purchase amounts are never shared, published or given to any third party. We treat collector relationships with the same discretion a private gallery would.
